Default REMEMBER MAGIC JOHNSON??

Thought you cats might get a kick out of one of my old photos from back in the day. From left to right, REGGIE CHASTINE (Point guard) EARVIN (MAGIC) JOHNSON (Center) and TOMMY BENSON (shooting guard). This photo is when Everett High School (where I went) won the state championship. Reggie Chastine died in a car crash a week after the game, he was as Earvin said, the best point guard he ever saw, they all use to play basketball in my back yard with my brother Tony. Tommy Benson could flat out jump out the building and was a lights out jump shooter. All three of these guys played on my fathers pop warner football team called the BLACKHAWKS. Magic played wide receiver, Reggie was the quarterback and Tommy was a defensive back. We all thought Reggie was 40 because of the facial hair. Earvin couldn't catch a cold at receiver, horrible football player, my dad told him to find another sport (WHO KNEW HE WOULD GO PLAY BASKETBALL) Enjoy!!!!

Default Fond memories

I remember those days. Those of us in Detroit could not believe there was a cat in LANSING that had mad skills like that. Not to mention he had the moniker "Magic". I remember during that championship season he made the front page of one of the Detroit newspapers. I believe there was a little bit of jealousy going on. He proved himself winning the state championship that year because high school basketball ain't no joke in Michigan.

Who knew???

Default Magic

Awesome pic and thanks for sharing the memory! Wow. Magic was the bomb and the best point guard I ever saw.

The funniest comment I heard about him was when my brother's roommate said, "Magic Johnson"...now if that isn't the perfect name for someone's hoo-ha, then I don't know what is.
