Default Preparing to Play Like it's Your Last One: Tennessee vs. Florida State

January 4th, 1998 is a special day to me because not only is that my birthday but the last time Tennessee won a BCS national championship. The opponent - Florida State Seminoles!

That day will be with me until the day I die. My beloved Vols may never win another BCS title but that was the first one and we can lay claim to that.

This weekend on Saturday, at 3:00 pm, in Arlington, TX at my Neyland Stadium, I get to renew that rivalry against the CBSMF version of FSU. The coach, Pep Woods, is a very good coach and friend. He brings it everytime he plays and leaves it on the field. When I play him, I enjoy the 3 hours. Whether I win or lose, I know Pep will not complain and will abide by the rules. It is usually an "Argue-Free" 3 hours.

I think both him and myself want to win immensely but not at the point of losing a friend. I know this weekend, he will play fierce. He always does. More importantly, I know he will play the game like its his last. I, in turn, will do the same.

Shown below is some of the drills my team is undergoing in preparation for this gargantian tilt. Both teams are 2-1 and are playing pretty well. FSU just lost to Texas 34-16 in a very good game where FSU had the lead on the Texas at half. The Vols are coming off a 28-0 win against Arkansas and have re-loaded with some new wrinkles.

Watch the game this weekend.

MantarayeDre, there are six cameras on my set up. If you look closely, there is 1 overhead, 2 endzone cameras, 2 lower level spy cameras, and a high-end professional camera. These cameras allow me to see different angles and change stations accordingly to record to my DVR for scouting use.
