Default Critical Questions!

Comrads:

What is the birthday of Electric Football?

Who invented it?

Where?

When did it make its name transition from Electric Football to Miniature Football?

I would love to know the answer to all these questions so that I can give interesting spectators accurate responses.

Carpe Diem,
Tudorian

Paul...here are the smart alec answers:

Comrads
No, it wasn't invented in the Soviet Union

What is the birthday of Electric Football?
My birthday, of course

Who invented it?
Mike Pratt...don't believe him, just ask him. With a little help from CorEy.

Where?
Pratt's kitchen

When did it make its name transition from Electric Football to Miniature Football?
See big lawyers, copyright enfringement, etc.
Note: Actually there's an urban legend (possibly true) posed by the Landsmans that Tudor had the copyright on the name Super Bowl. When the NFL wanted to call the championship game Super Bowl (because Lamar Hunt though it'd be a good idea), they had to get the copyright for the name from EF. Because the NFL made a lot of money off the name "Super Bowl", it's one of the many reasons that the NFL was very good to EF over the years.

Sorry, I don't deal in accuracy...I'm a consultant.

While the common belief is that electric football was invented in Pratts kitchen, the truth is that it was developed by Gunther Burkhaulter of the Gestapo in 1942 in a little town called Sindelfingen, which is just a grenade's throw away from Stuttgart, Germany. Yes, electric football was used as a tool of torture to get information from the prisoners. 2 hours of watching the little guys spin around in circles was enough to crack the toughest of men and reduce them to a mound of sniveling jelly! Eventually it was banned as being inhumane by the Geneva Convention in their 1949 revisions
