WHEN DO YOU GET SICK OF DECALING

At what point do you get sick of decaling. I just read kingpin spent 7 hours decaling last night. There is a time hen you say, "Im sick of doing this".
You go and watch tv or something.

What was your longest decal session in consecutive hours ?Guys love doing this stuff but i actually hate it. I rather practice running plays.
Sometimes i just talk myself out of doing it.

it is a sense of accomplishment once a team is thoughly complete. There are coaches who say decaling relaxes them

Dre,
I've found,for me anyway, that you need to "push" away
from the table after a few hours.You get tired,your works gets
sloppy.It's pain-staking work,trust me.Your eyes,and body
need a break after a marathon decaling session.....

I only get tired of it when I'm doing Custom figures or Proline figures leg stripes. Nobody has done them yet, so you have to cut and paste every little turn.

I cannot decal at all and I consider it a skill , just like hand painting !

I have gotten to the point of detesting decaling. Mainly because I started trying to print my own decals because the decals I usually want are not readily available. It really depends on the amount of detail you want. I usually only decal helmet logos, jersey numbers, shoulder numbers and names. But I got into trying to do jersey patches and secondary logos and it just got to be too much trouble. Way too much time trying to create the decal sheets. So I decided to just go back to painting all my teams in the "classic" Tudor style and use stick on jersey numbers only. A lot less trouble and you don't have to be that accurate with stripes or colors. Another reason why I have gone to painting a lot of 30's, 40's and 50's teams.

But I also do extremely appreciate a really good decal job and the detailing of figures that has taken the hobby to a higher level.

I am done after about five figures, I can't stand decaling, am a lot like Kingpin, my eyes are going, I need to wear magnifying glasses when I paint or decal anymore.

Decalling means I am on the home stretch, so that's good . I can do a whole 22+ squad in one go but I do take breaks while I wait for the solvent to flatten the decals, or sometimes I'll decal the bottom half of the figure first then go back and do the top so I'll wait for those to set before continuing. Breaks consist of XBOXing generally. I think I've gone 3-4 hours non stop. I do not use anything but precut decals these days. A benefit of doing Steeler teams is that I only have to mess with one helmet logo. I did a Lions team a few years back, before pre-cuts, and I had to cut out all those stupid little lions... You just want to throw up after awhile. When you finally do take a break everything else looks A LOT bigger

I agree! And...Beenut PRE CUT DECALS if at all possible. My biggest chore is the base coating and touch up, thats where I start to loose my energy.
