There is a huge difference in performance. They run more stable...and can be tweaked for speed. I have a running back on a widetop TTC and he is plenty fast....and because of the TTC base, his path is pretty unpredictable...unless you are looking for the giveaway prongs and lean. I don't have a pic of the base, but very little of the dial is showing when viewed from above when compared with regular bases. The widetops don't seem to be great for strength...but it sure is nice to have a fast, stable platform! Heavier figures and figures that aren't well balanced do better on these bases.
