Default NICE POST

Coaches

Excellent job in your responses. IM GLAD WE ALL CAN VOICE OUR DISPLEASURES WITHOUT ANYONE GETTING OFFENDED. ANY RULE CREATOR.

1) AGREE WITH SHABBY, I think all forced punt rules should be banned. You cannot create a rule for secondary reasons. ( preventing a coach from quitting).

When you force a coach to punt you have blatantly taken the game out of the coaches hand for no reason. Do we remember new england vs the colts last year. Bill belichik went for it on 4th 1 on there own 30 or so. THEY DID NOT MAKE IT AND THE COLTS SCORED EASILY. Belichik was killed in the press for the next few weeks. DID THE REF WALK OVER TO HIM AND SAY BEFORE HAND, " YOU CANT GO FOR IT HERE, YOU HAVE TO PUNT ".
Let the coach decide what he wants to do, not an uness rule.

2)MIKE ROBERTSON IS RIGHT, I would like to see more detailed shifts and motion play before the snap. Not just the guys in the backfield. There are a million offensive strategies surrounded by many shifts and motions. The defense should be able to show you one package and change it entirely ( all players) during a 10 to 15 second shift period. IE, the d shows no blitz during the set up. at the start of the shift period he should be able to walk 4 blitzers up tp the line if he wants. Also the offense can show 1 line set up and change it entirely. IE, line set straight, then change to 3 pulling guards and move the TE to the other side.

3) 35/45 CLOCK. Im not sure why 10 seconds were take away from the offense. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY COACHES CAN USE THAT ADDL 10 SECONDS. Switch personnel in and out of the game is crucial for many coaches.

*** IM NOT COMPARING THE M.P.F.L TO OTHER LEAGUES AND THERE RULES BUT D... IF HE DID NOT GET IT RIGHT. Both coaches set up simultaneously for 45 seconds like the nfl. When your done you must say set. Any one caught with there hand on the field when the 45 second timer goes off is an automatic DELAY OF GAME. NO EXCEPTIONS ! The penalty is enforced right then and there and the yards will be marked off on the field. You better say say set by 43 seconds.

So why not 45/50 or 45/55. Why take away 10 seconds from the offense. The defense is still getting there adjustment period regardless.

3) Quarterback blocking on running plays, i think it would be more interesting to see what running teams can do without the extra help of a blocking qb.

4)I AGREE WITH MICHIGAN JOE, need to fix the neutral zone line play between teams. I notice in some nfl games that teams are way off the ball. In electric football, this would lead to watching your players do there job as an individual and not be caught up in traffic jams.
