An Official EF/MF Team For Each City!

Being that NFL license is basically out of our reach, why don't we create an MF/EF team for each city which would officially be approved by the MCFA?

For instance, the New York Empires, the Baltimore Blazers, or the Los Angeles
Lasers.(These are just some ideas guys)

The names and uniform colors would all have to be approved by the MCFA, which would own all the rights.

These would have the distinction of being EF/MF teams.

Give me your thoughts.

I think it should be a set number of teams for the MFCA. An example would be 40 teams total would represent the MFCA. Along with that, they would be broken up into conferences and divisions; what have you. The coach names could be drawn from a hat. Each coach called would be the coach for a respective team. I think that would be best because a team for every city in the U.S. would mean hundreds of teams. A tournament for something like that would be like the NCAA basketball tournament to the final four. Imagine the size of that bracket.

I like this idea. We need more input.

I don't want to sound rude....but isn't that what the CBSMF is already kind of doing? If everyone participated in that league, you would get the same effect.
I know we are using college teams, but there is so much variety there it is not like anyone is left out. Creating a MFCA team for each city is a neat idea, but is it fair? Will there only be one coach in each city allowed to participate?

If you want to create fictional teams and then fictional leagues....with no ties to a specific city...then cool. There are so many hamlets, burgs, burbs and villages out there that you won't run out of names...and no one gets excluded. Didn't Manta Ray Dre have just such a team?

it is already being done with the NHFL and has been done, going on four years.

That's part of our problem, everyone wants to invent their own version of the wheel.

Fictional Teams and Leagues
 

I agree with Coach Rip. We already have a league with fictional teams. The problem is getting everyone to play by one set of rules. It has been tried several times already and proven that no one really wants to unify the hobby unless you play by "our set of rules".

To me the NHFL has the best set of rules to date that could unify the hobby.

When I first heard about the MFCA it was my hope that finally we would have an organization that would "standardize" the games and be able to come together to play leagues and tournaments under one set of rules sanctioned by the MFCA.

If other organizations such as the ACA (American Cornhole Association) - and I use this as an example because I have being researching this lately to build the games which I had never even heard of before - can organize enough to have sanctioned tournaments, then why can't we?

I was saying essentially the same thing...only I was suggesting it as a way to 1) expand exposure of the MFCA, 2) raise some funds for the MFCA...

I had asked the mfca to establish a standard baseline set of rules when they first started, .....................however with many trying to be politically correct, and the prevalent thought of any type of rule set is okay, .............then, it just shows, we are all over the place, ...........as I have stated previously, a baseline set of rules is a place to start and everyone can go from there if they choose. Don't confuse the newbies!

Take the BuzzBall tournaments,......... we have a standard no weight division, (the most popular division)......., it is baseline stock equipment, ...............and we also have the custom/weighted division which allows for everyone's' creativity.

there is a saying that if you keep trying to stay in the middle of the road, ...............you will get run over :(

National Appeal Is The Key Word!
 

Because the MCFA has both national an international appeal, it is just the organization to field one team per city.

Yes, it would include one coach elected by the members of the MFCA, and uniforms and other essentials would be approved by the MFCA.

As for the rules, at some point in time, just like in any organization, corporation, etc., the participants must come to an accord on a common set of rules. I strongly believe that the MCFA should have its rules finalized no later than next year. Simply, or unsimply, get the minds of the members together and come up with a common accord.

A great example of this accord is organized crime. These guys often hated each other, but they came together with a common rule-set to enhance their organization.

While every league, state, region, city, or neighborhood can and has formed its own rules, the MCFA must have its own standardized rules to push the sport of EF/MF over the top.

That's why I'm advocating for one MCFA team per city with its own and distinct uniforms.

And by the way, these would not be fictional teams. More accurately, they would be EF/MF teams.

Keep in mind, we are not the NFL, the NHL, the NCAA, etc.. We represent a totally distinct entity --the sport of MF/EF.

It is a nobel idea, though I have doubts that other guys would want to buy imaginary teams that someone else made up. Miggle tried sort of the same thing last year with their contest. They produced one team, the London Union Jacks ( who in my completely, 100% unbiased opinion are the most gorgeous team I've ever seen :rolleyes: :dcsmb: drl$$ thmbsp$ :D ) and were supposed to make the other, the Munich Moon Sharks, but for whatever reason haven't seen the light of day yet. You might want to ask the Landsmans how that little endevour went. You might also ask them who the two imbeciles were that came up with those teams. mtmstnks mtmstnks
