Sellers - How do you feel about paypal?

Hey all you EF sellers out there...

How do you feel about paypal?

I've heard some horror stories, and I do use them to do the transactions on ebay items.. I've never had a problem with them as a buyer..

I was thinking about making paypal a payment option on the Tornado Alley site... After a couple of ebay transactions as a seller, and seeing the difference in transaction costs between paypal and an internet gateway/credit card companies.. Paypal makes sense.. Well, everything but their we can do what we want, when we want, for any reason we want, and not talk to you about it policy.. :D

i've been using paypal for my ebay sales and purchases for a couple of years now, without a hitch. it sucks that you get fee'd to death, a nickel here, a quarter there. but, as far as i know, most of the horror stories came when paypal was first offered. they would freeze peoples accounts who had money stored in them for no reason, etc... i believe that ebay purchased and owns paypal, and since then, a lot of the bugs may have been fixed. if you don't want to risk losing money in that account, make sure to not keep money stored in there. they will deposit and draw out money for you free of charge.

I personally like PayPal for transactions, whether buying or selling.

So far, my sales through paypal have taken on fees that are acceptable. I don't count the ebay fees cuz it's a separate thing. With the Tornado Alley EFS, and an internet gateway company, merchant fees, and Visa and Mastercard getting their big ole slice of the pie it's over 3 times as high as going through paypal.. Unless of course there are some surprise fees coming from paypal after the transaction.

And yep, as soon as the money hits the paypal account, I withdraw them. Plus, I signed it up with a separate bank account that I don't keep a lot of money in.

Thanks Guys

Hey Bill

Paypal is OUTSTANDING, but once your account hits $50, start withdrawing.

OH.. I'll be honest Norbert.. Your prior situation with ebay and paypal was one of the horror stories I was referring to.. SO.. I take it it was just ebay that was being unreasonable..

I'll keep the $50 figure in mind.. All the transactions I've done through paypal to this point have all been in excess of $50.. So I got them out.. now. But the 3-4 day window has not yet been met, so it hasn't been transferred from paypal to my account yet.

I wish it would.. I've got a combination subbuteo/ef game table to do, and I'm kinda pumped about putting it together.

No Bill

Ebay is outstanding also, just don't do a mass ending on over 100 store items at one time when your account is less then 3 months old, a big red flag went up from what I can gather from automated emails I received, I still to this day can't get a real person to email or call me back, oh well.

Norbert
