Preparing to Go Back Into a world of...

solitude and solitaire.

Guys think that because you own a miniature football company, you've got teams just laying around. For me, that is so far from the truth.

When I began FF.COM/FF.Net back in 2000, my whole goal was to make sure I can (personally) have any team I want. That's really why the company was started. I felt that whenever I wanted to go into my own little world of miniature football, I would be able to pull out whatever stadium, gameboard, and figures that I wanted.

Because of customer demand, it never happened like that. Honestly, I own no teams, 2 stadiums, and really no 308 Gameboards. I have nothing! But when guys come to my house and show me what they've got going on, I get a little jealous (in a sense). I figure "I've been in the game all these years and I've got nothing to show for it".

Well, it's time to start having something to show for my time. I am gonna get my slotaire league restarted and these are the teams and stadiums I will get done:

AFC East
Miami Dolphins 1972
Buffalo Bills 1973
Baltimore Colts 1958
New York Jets 1968

AFC Central
Pittsburgh Steelers 1978
Cleveland Browns 1957
Cincinnati Bengals
Houston Oilers 1978

AFC West
Oakland Raiders 1983
Denver Broncos 1997
San Diego Chargers 1981
Kansas City Chiefs 1970

Seattle Seahawks 1984
Baltimore Ravens 2000

NFC
NFC East
Dallas 1992
Washington 1987
Philadelphia Eagles 1988
New York Giants 1986

NFC Central
Minnesota Vikings 1975
Green Bay Packers 1996
Detroit Lions 1991
Chicago Bears 1985

NFC West
Los Angeles Rams - 1985
San Francisco 49ers - 1988
Atlanta Falcons - 1997
New Orleans Saints - 2006

Seattle -2005
Houston Texans - 2008

I will be building these teams for my solitiare season.

I understand

I've been all day trying to please all my wargaming friends except me and It's go me nowhere and nothing. I'm having a bad day and all I want to do is just sit and paint my men up. Sometimes it's just too hard to coordinate any fun with anybody.

sorry for the downer message. maybe later things will get better.

Coach K-LO 12-08-2008 10:03 AM

great selections, I guess you did not like some of these alternative teams

Buffalo circa 1973-Love the old school Bills with OJ rushing for 2,003. Anything that shows "The Juice" not slashing in a negative way, I want to show. I love that unifrom!
- bills - 1990-94

Raiders 1983-Again, Marcus Allen is the greatest player in the history of MANKIND! Love this guy and anytime I can show him cutting back on the 'Skins, I must do so!
- raiders - 1976

Seahawks 1984-Will probably do this look because I loved and hated watching Curt Warner running that rock. I've got several great shots of him that I can do.
- I was going to speak about 1984 Seahawks, but they were good

Hail to the Redskins 1987-Who can forget the Broncos heavily favorite team led by John Elway losing to Doug Williams? I am still looking for Tim Smith after his 200 yard affair but I love that group of 'Skins.
- redskins - 1991

Bucs and Pats Championship Teams will be done. Just forgot to put them on t he board. This is gonna be a lot of work but a lot of fun. I am creating shelves in my miniature football room to have as mantle places for each team. I may do a little write up on each team as far as starters and their history. Just something I want to do when I get some time.

- no Bucs and No Patriots???????????

Taylor 12-31-2008 07:27 PM

how's the team building coming?

Reginald Rutledge 12-31-2008 08:02 PM

I will start January 1

I've got several customer orders that I need to knock out before I can take care of myself. Once I get these teams and 308s done, then I will focus in on doing my pro and college leagues.

Holidays and Sundays are the only days I can get to work for myself so I will do some things tomorrow.

I am right now looking at thousands of pictures to determine the poses I want to create.

Steel Town Tough 12-31-2008 08:21 PM

You Da Man!

Reg,IMO you got the best figs out there.I like them because when done right they just pop out at you. Each one becomes it's own identity. They are easy to work with and to me more realistic in the end.your stock poses are cool on their own,but can be customized to do whatever you want.you can tell how passionate you are by the products you put out.Keep it fun--thanks STT

mklingbeil 01-01-2009 09:47 PM

Reginald,
I understand what you are talking about. Bill and I made thousands of ITZ figures, always hoping to make a few teams (if not our entire league), but never had the time to make a single team. Honestly, that is the reason we stopped making and selling them, so we could have time to actually play EF!

I am in the process of making Marky the entire NFL from 1966-1970, with about 50 some players in both jerseys. It is a big project, but should be fun.

Good luck,
Mark

Welcome To the Solitaire World

Reg,

Welcome to the peace and serenity of the solitaire league! This year will be my third solitaire season! I've got 10 teams in my solitaire league that will be competing in 2009:

1. Super Bowl XXX Dallas Cowboys, painter (J. McGhee)
2. Super Bowl XLI Indianapolis Colts, painter (M. Francis)
3. Super Bowl XXXV Baltimore Ravens, painter (J. McGhee)
4. Suber Bowl XIV Pittsburgh Steelers, painter (M. Guttman)
5. Super Bowl XX Chicago Bears, painter (J. McGhee)
6. All-Time Washington Redskins, painter (B. Nutt)
7. All-Time New York Giants, painter (B. Nutt)
8. All-Time Cleveland Browns, painter (J. McGhee)
9. 2003 St Louis Rams, painter (J. McGhee)
10. 2004 Buffalo Bills, painter (J. McGhee)

In 2011 I will be adding the final two teams:
All-Time San Francisco 49ers, painter (M. Francis)
Super Bowl VII Miami Dolphins, painter (J. McGhee)

I keep stats and update bases with new talent in the off-year as I run the solitaire seasons every other year. It's a lot of work, but it's a labor of love. If I was to do it every year nothing else in my life would get done.

I also have my tournament team, the 1980 San Diego Chargers, which I take to a few tournaments a year.

This year will be my 3rd solitaire season. You can check out the action at www.vaefl.com

Good Luck!

Jerry

Honestly, I would just rather...

play all alone and leave the public eye if I could! I love the thought of just going into one of my MF rooms and turning on the lights and hearing the roaring crowd over Neyland Stadium or Ericsson Stadium with the lights on and choosing from 64 NFL teams and 180 college teams just to play out the rest of my life.

I love the serenity of thought, playing alone, and not arguing over whether a man was hit or not. Such quiet moments are what I dream for and hope to someday go back to.

Reg

Please tell me the 1972 Dolphins and 2008 Patriots will get a shot at each other. That is one game I'm looking forward to.

Reginald Rutledge 01-04-2009 10:01 AM

Any Tom Brady-led Patriots Super Bowl winner comes to mind but definitely, the 1972 Miami Dolphins will be the team form Miami's history. I've got 40 custom poses created just for this team from photos I've taken of the Dolphins great team of yore.

The PATS on the other hand, I plan to put them in their throwback uniforms but definitely one of the Super Bowl winning teams will be used. I am debating whether to bring out my FF.COM bases for these teams and mix with other bases or just keep it all FF.COM bases that I have had from the past.

I love Paul Warfield and Mercury Morris and I've been looking at a way to bring these great players back to life (on a miniature level).

This will be fun (and a lot of work)!
