Game Day Boards

What percentage of you are still using a 620 as your main game day board? Not that there is anything wrong with that. I enjoy a good scrimmage on my vintage 620.

Custom boards

I can't tell you how much I love to play on custom boards. It's so awesome to see and be on a field that is done up in the colors of the home team. Also,I love how they run. I have been blessed to have some of the best board makers in the business. I also want to play on others that i know are great.

My own custom board (fiberboard 24" by 48") has never quite performed the way I would like it. I have spent some time recently, trying to get it working correctly, but the board is still not where I want it to be. I have a 620 that outperforms it.

I am sure if I could get my board to run the way the 620 does, I would use it always.

I think that the closer you get to the true proportions of real football, the better.

Forever Scrimmaging

For as little as I play having a big-board isn't necessary, my 660s (red rail Superbowl boards) are great.

LOL!

I hear you on that!

I have really only scrimmaged with my son...and only a few times...and he's a video game kid (7 and a half years old) so his attention span with EF/MF is like 5 minutes at best! :(

But in those times, the metal boards I have, have done better (I also have a 660 and a SB board 6072?).

Custom Board

I enjoy playing on my custom board. I believe the custom board is a symbol of how far the hobby has come.

I'm glad when I can customize some bread with peanut butter and jelly with some measure of success, much less a game made of medal with electricity running through it; I'd kill myself. And I am poor. Hence, pj sandwiches. 620's the best option for me so far. Brian

660 Superbowl Series.

And then when I could'nt come up with a replcement 660, I did What all the Veterians started doing, Making the Wider!, Longer,And More Beautiful With Team Logo's to top that all off. Speed exsist's on each Board when you take the time to make it work for you. thmbsp$

I only have a 620 so that is what I spend my time on. I have played on a scale sized board at the Seawall Brawl and liked how they performed. However until I own one I can only comment on the 620. I will say that I like how my older 620 runs.

To me big boards are the natural evolution of the game . We have custom figures, super strong and fast bases that can be made to do anything. The only thing left is to make the boards bigger .
I will only play my home games on a big board . I have created my offense around the size of the big boards.

I have a custom metal field that is 60" x 27". It performs nicely, but I have three Gotham motors on it and it is incredibly loud. I am looking for a way to make it quieter, perhaps using the same motors seen on this page from the guy from Canada.

One cool thing I have is a 3 1/2 border on the sidelines with green felt laid on it so the players can sit right besides the field. This sideline is not attached to the metal field, but is a 2x4 laying sideways that the field attaches to.

In my experience, bigger is better!

Texas Stadium Is A 620 For Now...

Until A Custom Big Board Is The Budget. I Just Upgraded To 620 Last Year I Haven't Used It In The C.n.y. League Yet. Next Season, Will Be The First Time I've Ever Played A Official Game On One. So Hopefully I'll Be On Big Board Side Sometime Soon.

A Custom Scale Size Board

I perfer a scale size board over a 620, and hears is why...........ftbll$

I have a love for the actual game of football, there is nothing more enjoyable than understanding field position, understanding what type of formation to set up, to see the game come to life right infront of you're eyes as a reflection of the actual game of football develops true to life.

I Agree

The Bigger The Board The Better....otherwise It's Just A Scrum......

SuperBowl board in the CNYEFL

I'll be using a 308 in the BAM.

And we have a 620 as well that we use in the NDEFL along with the 308.

Coach K-LO 07-07-2008 11:24 AM

i sold my only big board

i had a megawatts large board (original style) that I sold along with the team that went with it.

I got some field covers from larue and Jimbo and have been enjoying that. I don't have table space any longer for the big board right now......

Shabby J 07-07-2008 11:12 PM

I am glad to see...

that there are a quite a few coaches still getting down with a 620 or similiar field.

I was not expecting that many replies for the 620 to be honest. I am an old school EF purist at heart, I love my 620 and am glad to see so many coaches using them still as well.
