Aat All Ttqb Passers
How do you keep the white TTQB'S from breaking a leg after constant use ?
I was practicing throwing with 2 white ttb's and after a while i noticed there legs became weaker and weaker then snaped. That is not the right kind of plastic for that type of figure and it's usage. Is there any type of glue or some sort of "WHATEVER" to put around the legs before using so that part of the TTQB' S body is stronger and able to handle the continued use . IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEA'S, PLEASE LETS HEAR IT. P.S/ WHY DID MIGGLE SWITCH FROM THE "MORE POWERFULL YELLOW TTQB'S TO THE DELICATE WHITE ONES ? Not a knock on miggle but WHAT ARE THEY DOING ?" |
i have had the exact same problem. i had tried building up around the ankle with super glue, but it still snapped at a higher point. i have tried tenax-7, model glue, no good result for me. i just switched over to the yellow ttqb.

Here is how I solved the problem. Just give the ball to Csonka more.lffng$
I also had to switch to the yellow qb's . |
Oddly enough, I've only ever had yellow TTQB's break. My white ones have always done fine.
Can't kick for a darn, but anyway. Roo |

Anyway, I have a few "old school" white TTQB left in my collection, send me a PM and we can see about getting you one or two of them......thmbsp$ K-LO |
thanks for the reminder, WW........thmbsp$

Try this
Bruce Watts told me to take you TTC and let it sit in vinager for a couple of days. I hope this helps.

I destroyed more TTQB's than I want to admit..
One thing fixed the problem I only found it at Home Depot. It's called Plastic Fusion.. Works great.. and can be sanded and shaped. |
I can't remember if I read this or heard it, not sure if it's fact or fiction. Get a red hot needle/pin and push up through the base into the foot and into the lower leg, then trim the remainder of the needle off flush with the base.
Like I said, never tried it, just remember hearing or reading it somewhere along the line. Not sure how far you would be able to push the needle into the plastic before it cools too much and stops going further. I may give this one a try this weekend. Anyone hear of this? |
never heard of it, but i can definitely see how it would work. thanks!
i have to find some of this plastic fusion that kansas bill talks about, sounds like some really toxic stuff.thmbsp$ |

Plastic Fusion is made by the super glue people..
When I originally found this stuff, supposedly Home Depot was the only place I could get the stuff. (in Wichita).. there is a place on the Super Glue website to inquire about where you can get the stuff based on your zipcode. I think I previously said something about how easy this stuff is to sand as well.. A mini-file set works great to sand/form on this stuff too.. |
Att Kansas Bill
Hey bill,
What is your method of applying this glue ? Do you just spread some on before using the ttqb ? Do you notice the difference after the glue is on ? I wonder if reveena al can solve this problem ! MANTARAY-DRE |
Interesting...

I have a white TTQB that's got some ankle issues and it's worth a shot to try and fix him this way... I plan on giving it a try tonight...I'll let you know how it goes... |
I tried the pin method once. Stuck my finger, burned my finger and threw the QB away that I was trying to fix. It was more work then it was worth but maybe you will have better luck. I have seen Bills's QB and he does work better with the super fusion stuff!

Wolf,
Did you learn that passing method from Tom Ruesink or did he learn that from you? I saw Tom pass that way at his show (in practice only, I think he put down the sticks EVERY time in the games) and was impressed! Mark |

Anyone Ever Tried This

Ever heard of a product called J.B Weld? It's a two part epoxy resin and hardner, but it works wonders on stuff like motors, stripped threads cracks, etc...I always have a couple of tubes in my garage, I may try some on a TTQB ankle and see how it works on that plastic. It works on a lot of stuff, I have seen it do some miraculous things in the garage, really good product.
I will see what it does to a TTQB ankle, similar to the way the Plastic Fusion is being used. Here's a pic and they have a good website too. |

So on to other options... |
I am surprised Weirdwolf had problems with the glue...you know...all that hair on his knuckles...must have been a real problem when the hair came off...rtfl$ lffng$ mgngcrz

Tudor white TTQB
I finally got my hands on some old school white Tudor TTQBs (the ones with the post on the bottom of the platform that came with a unique base). Anyways, WOW what a difference the right material makes for the TTQB. These 70s Tudor TTQBs have a much more elastic material than the current design (even better that a couple of the 80s yellow TTQBs I have). You can throw 48" bullet passes and I was pleasantly surprised at the ability to throw the touch pass too.
Why couldn't Miggle recapture this old recipe, the current TTQBs will surely ruin the TTQB passing for any newbie  . I'd recommend anyone who enjoys the passing to give up on the current Miggle and find themselves an old school TTQB. |

if anyone has a need for some of these TTQB, I still have some left. K-lo |
